As the ongoing conflict in the Middle East pushes up energy costs, Americans will face record gasoline prices during the Labor Day holiday, coinciding with the start of the US midterm elections in November.
Reuters reports that Patrick De Haan, an analyst at the oil price tracking website GasBuddy, said the average price of gasoline in the US during the Labor Day holiday is estimated to reach $4.03 per gallon (about 3.785 liters), breaking the record of $3.83 set during the same period in 2012.
